Silk Care Guide
Quick touch-ups:
- Steam or iron on the lowest silk setting to remove fold lines.
- Use a clean cotton cloth between the iron and the silk.
- If you prefer no heat, gently use the scarf and hang it—creases will ease out naturally.
Washing:
- Wash silk sparingly.
- Hand wash only, in lukewarm (not hot) water with a mild silk-safe detergent.
- Swish gently—don’t rub, twist, or wring.
- Rinse until the water runs clear.
Drying:
- Remove excess water by pressing between towels.
- Dry flat on a clean towel, out of direct sunlight.
- Don’t hang silk while wet to avoid stretching.
Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry, sun-free space.
- Leave space between scarves to prevent snagging.
Stains:
- Blot, never rub.
- For water-based stains, dab gently with a silk-safe detergent.
- For oil stains, use a little talcum powder to absorb oils.
- When unsure, use a professional dry cleaner experienced with silk.
Avoid:
- Harsh detergents, bleach, fabric softener.
- Perfume or hairspray after the scarf is on.
- Washing machines, dryers, and plastic storage bags.
